Chandigarh: With each passing day dengue cases in city are on the rise. Malaria Wing of UT Health Department on Monday, reported 14 new cases of dengue. The reports indicate tests conducted on Sunday and Monday, include 9 fresh cases and 5 confirmed from probable cases.
Health Department also highlighted that, most of the cases of dengue are being reported from Sector 41, 42, 45, 15, Manimajra, Maloya and Mauli jagran.
However, no fresh case of Chikungunya has been reported in any of the health institutions in city.
However, testing facility for Chikungunya has been started in GMCH-32, and will soon be started at GMSH-16 as well.
To further strengthen preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out along with strengthening of field activities, which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources.
Till date 30 challans, 50 show cause notices and more than 2,268 notices have been served to defaulters. Free Dengue testing facility is available at Department of Virology, PGIMER Chandigarh, Department of Microbiology GMCH-32, GMSH-16 and District Priority Lab (IDSP) at Civil Hospital Manimajra.
