CHANDIGARH: Programme Specialist, Communication and Information, Sector, UNESCO, Paris Alton Grizzle on Friday delivered a lecture to Library Professionals at AC Joshi Library, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh. In his lecture, Alton Grizzle said that technology is transforming how we live, socialise and participate in social, political and economic development. In this context, media and information literacy (MIL) is necessary to engage with media for self-expression, freedom of expression inter-cultural dialogue, democratic participation, gender equality and social inclusion, he said. Alton Grizzle exhorted the librarians to serve as guardians of media and information literacy to promote the use of library resources and services and to support lifelong learning.
