Chandigarh: With finalization of candidates and nominations having been filed for MC Polls, BJP candidates are canvassing and holding nukkad meetings in their respective wards. Candidates are getting support from various communities and associations.
In a meeting with residents of Bapu Dham Colony, at Braham Kumari Ashram, Raj Kishore, BJP candidate from Ward Number 19, said, he is committed towards welfare of residents of his ward, and before taking any decision regarding development of his ward, residents of the colony will be taken into confidence.
Shakti Prakash Devshali, candidate from ward number 20, assured residents of colony number 4 that Rehabilitation Scheme of government will be first introduced for residents of colony number 4 in Chandigarh.
“Ward number 3 has been occupied by Congress since many years and nothing has been done to address parking woes faced by people of sector 22, which are increasing day by day. If elected, I will do the needful on priority basis to end this problem,” said Ravi Kant Sharma, BJP candidate from ward number 3, while campaigning in Sector 22 during the morning.
BJP candidate, Asha Jaswal, contesting from ward number 17 got a tremendous response from residents of sector 19 while campaigning door to door. She said, people of this ward are fed up of congress since nothing much has been done, ward is plagued by problems like bad roads, parking problems in sector 19 market, sewerage problems etc. The Residents Welfare Association, Sector 21 has extended full support to Jaswal. Ward 26 candidate Vinod Aggarwal went door to door campaigning for the election in Subhash Nagar, and Indira Colony.
