Chandigarh: Various BJP candidates carried out massive election campaign in their respective wards from today. The party candidates stepped up their campaign and went door to door meeting the residents.
While campaigning for ward number 1, Maheshinder Singh Sidhu interacted with women voters and was well received by them who assured him complete support. Raj Bala Malik, candidate from Ward no 2 initiated door to door campaign from sector 15-A today. She met the young voters and the women of the ward. She discussed with them some of the problems that are being faced by the ward residents.
After filing the nominations for MC elections, candidate from Ward no 4 Sunita Dhawan interacted with the residents from her ward. She started her election campaign from cheap houses in sector 24.
Contesting the Municipal Elections from Ward no 6, Farmila Devi after filing her nominations carried out her election campaign in Dadumajra Colony. She interacted with the colony residents and assured them of development in the ward.
Rajesh Kalia, candidate from Ward number 7, went to all the holy places as thanksgiving in the Maloya after filling the nominations ahead of the MCC elections. He met a few residents and will be starting door to door campaign from tomorrow.
Campaigning from ward number 8, Arun Sood along with other BJP members did door to door campaigning today in sector 37 and also visited the Mandi Board. He interacted with the residents and the members of the board to understand their problems and issues.
Candidate Chandrawati Shukla, from ward number 12 also started door to door campaigning in Kajheri village today after the inauguration of Party Election office in the village. She, while speaking to the residents, assured them that eradicating the problems and concerns in the ward will be her priority.
Ward number 16 candidate Rajesh Bittu interacted with the residents of sector 20 while campaigning for the MCC elections in his ward. Contestant from ward number 17 Asha Jaswal visited and interacted with the residents in sector 19-C. While carrying out the door to door campaign she interacted with the residents and assured overall progress in the ward. Jagtar Singh Dhillon, candidate from ward number 25 met the residents of Gobindpura and Thakurdwara in his ward during his election campaign. He assured the residents of better services and facilities.
16 BJP Candidates file nominations for MC Polls
16 BJP candidates today filed their nomination papers for the forthcoming Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections.
Today was the last date for filing nomination papers for the MC Elections to be held on December 18. Those who filed their nominations included Maheshinder Singh from Ward Number 1, Ravi Kant Sharma from Ward Number 3, Sunita Dhawan from Ward Number 4, Farmila Devi from Ward Number 6, Rajesh Kalia from Ward Number 7, Chandrawati Shukla from Ward Number 12, Heera Negi from Ward Number 13, Kanwarjeet Singh Rana from Ward Number 14, Rajesh Bittu from Ward Number 16, Raj Kishor from Ward 19, Shakti Parkash Devshali from Ward Number 20, Davesh Moudgil from Ward Number 22, Bharat Kumar from Ward Number 23, Anil Dubey from Ward Number 24, Jagtar Singh Dhillon from Ward Number 25, and Vinod Aggarwal from Ward Number 26.
Anil Dubey was accompanied by Jhughar Singh, President Kisan Morcha, Ram Vir Bhatti, Chairman Market Committee, Latika Sharma, MLA Kalka. Kanwarjeet Singh Rana was accompanied by Baljinder Gujral and Arvinder Gujral and Chaudhary Baldev Singh and Baldev Sahai. Maheshinder Singh Sidhu was accompanied by Barinder Singh and Avneesh Bansal. Raj Kishore was accompanied by Rajesh Kumar. Rajesh Kalia was accompanied by Rahul Dwivedi. Ravi Kant Sharma was accompanied by Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh State President of BJP, Arun Sood, Mayor, and Prince Bandula. Shakti Parkash Devshali was accompanied by Ram Shukal, Manu Bhasin, Naresh Arora, Acting President District 4, Sunita Dhawan was accompanied by Latika Sharma, MLA Kalka, Arun Sood, Mayor, BC Puri, and Raghuvir Lal Arora. Vinod Aggarwal was accompanied by Sushil Jain and Des Raj Gupta.
The covering candidates of respective candidates were Atul Lakhanpal for Maheshinder Singh, Jagdish Aggarwal for Ravi Kant Sharma, Shashi Thakur for Sunita Dhawan, Nirmala for Farmila Devi, Sanjeev Kumar for Rajesh Kalia, Kiran for Chandrawati Shukla, , Pratap Singh for Kanwarjeet Singh Rana, Rakesh Kumar Gupta for Rajesh Bittu, Sarita for Raj Kishor, Meghraj Verma for Shakti Parkash Devshali, , Baljinder for Bharat Kumar, Shashank Dubey for Anil Dubey, Sarabjeet Kaur for Jagtar Singh Dhillon, and Rajesh Pehalwan for Vinod Aggarwal. Six candidates of BJP had filed nominations yesterday, including Arun Sood, Raj Bala Malik, Satish Kumar Kainth, Asha Kumari Jaswal, Saurabh Joshi, and Gurpreet Singh Dhillon.
BJP State President Sanjay Tandon said the party was getting tremendous support from the people of Chandigarh. He added BJP was confident about victory in the Chandigarh MC elections, which was evident from the outstanding results coming from Maharashtra where BJP has swept the Municipal Corporation polls.
