Chandigarh: For the fourth time during this month, the Chandigarh was colder than Shimla and Dharamshala on Thursday night. According to the MeT department, the minimum temperature recorded in city was 6.7 degree Celsius, one degree below normal while Shimla recorded 8.6 degree Celsius and Dharamshala at 10 degree Celsius.
As the cold wave has swept across the city brings down the minimum temperature as well as the maximum temperature to be r3ecorded at 22.2 degree Celsius. The coldest city was Solan where minimum temperature was recorded at 3.4 degree Celsius with Ludhiana at 5.4 degree Celsius and Amritsar at 6 degree Celsius.
The air and rail traffic continued to be affected by fog in the region. One flight was cancelled while 9 were delayed. Similarly, 11 trains were delayed on Friday.
The Met Department has forecast shallow fog and further dip in the maximum and minimum temperatures. The night temperature will further drop by few notches to be recorded at 6 degree Celsius whereas the day temperature may drop to 21 degree Celsius.
