Chandigarh court directs Langah to surrender before Gurdaspur court.
Facing rape charges, Former Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sucha Singh Langah, today came to Chandigarh district court to surrender himeself, but the court directed him to surrender before Gurdaspur court.Langah came to the district court no. 10 of Sector 43 of Chandigarh to surrender. The former minister’s lawyer had requested the court here to send Langah to judicial custody, but the court has directed him to surrender in Gurdaspur.It is worth mentioning that case had been registered by Gurdaspur woman against former member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee on September 29 alleging that she had been raping for eight years.
As a proof, the victim also provided a video to the police. Claiming to be the same video, an obscene video of Sucha Singh Langah’s name is also getting viral on social media.Langah was booked under Sections 376 (rape), 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at the Gurdaspur City police station after the woman, a widow, complained he had been raping her since 2009.It is also mentionable that the complainant living in a village in Gurdaspur told the police that in 2008, her husband had died. He used to work in the Punjab Police. The victim met area minister in 2009 in his farmhouse at Chandigarh with the aim to get job as compensation where the minster raped her while taking it as advantage –woman claimed.
