Chandigarh Smart City mission projects were launched on Sunday. UT administrator, VP Singh Badnore launched several big projects on the occasion of second anniversary of the smart city mission. Badnore, in the presence of Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher inaugurated as many as 9 projects.
Major projects will be implemented with the 5900 crores of investment. It will affect a lot including the life style of the residents.
VP Singh Badnore launched a dedicated cycle track shared with footpath at the Vigyan Path, a smart city operations centre at PEC, Sector 12, the construction of a subway connecting Sector 17 to the Rose Garden, smart parking at Sector 17 and a proposed urban park behind Neelam Cinema, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh will be seeing the contruction of 90 km cycle tracks within the city. While Badnore inaugurated a 9.2 km long cycle track on Vigayan path. 60 acres at the rear of the Neelam theatre are proposed to be turned into a park with a seating capacity of 2500. It will also include open badminton courts, food court and children’s play area.
Along with them, a subway will also be constructed joining Plaza, Sector 17 to Rose garden, Sector 16. It is expected to be completed within 9 months. An under smart parking too will be made. In this parking one will be able to see the parking space available and book the space in advance. It will be manged by electronic machines.
