Chandigarh: Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has decided to give major relief to the 200 allotees of General Self Financing Housing Scheme-2008, Sector-63 by refunding the money charged as interests and penal interest against due total amount instead of unpaid amount.
The decision was taken during the board meeting held here on Friday. CHB will shell out approximately Rs two crore as refund to the allotees. Also Chandigarh Housing Board has approved hosting of the ‘Indian Building Congress’ Mid Term session and seminar in April, 2017, decided the board.
CHB Chairman Maninder Singh said that CHB received queries from the allottees submitting that they have paid penal interest on the total amount instead of the un-paid amount. This way they have to pay more and had the CHB calculated the interest on un-paid amount instead of total amount, the money paid must have been lesser in amount.
