Chandigarh: Number of dengue cases in the city have touched to 634. In a statement issued by the malaria wing of the UT Health Department on Tuesday, 10 fresh cases of Dengue have been reported from various health institutions which includes seven new cases and three confirmed amongst probable cases which brings the total number of dengue cases to 634 in the city.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, seven fresh cases of Chikungunya have been reported at GMCH 32 and PGIMER, out of which five are from Chandigarh and 2 with wrong address. The overall details of 105 cases of Chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 31 imported, 29 wrong address and 45 from Chandigarh.
While, every day, the department is trying to strengthen the preventive activities by doing daily fumigation is being carried out along with strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources.
Besides, free Dengue testing facility is available at Department of Virology, PGIMER Chandigarh, Department of Microbiology GMCH-32, GMSH-16 and District Priority Lab (IDSP) at Civil Hospital Manimajra
