CBI arrests CJM on charges of murdering wife
Chandigarh: The special Judge Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) dismissed the bail application of CJM Ravneet Garg on Monday. The bail application came up for hearing forth special CBI judge Kapil Rathi in Panchkula.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ravneet Garg, arrested by CBI on charges of allegedly murdering his wife, Geetanjali has been sent to jail. Garg was arrested on September 8 after which he was remanded to judicial custody.
CBI told court that they will file the challan in the court on December 7, the nest date for hearing. However Ravneet has sought for the court appearance via video conferencing from Ambala central jail.
After three years of turmoil, Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) managed to arrest Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ravneet Garg on September 8. Garg has been charged with murder of his wife Geetanjali Garg. Garg was serving as CJM Kaithal at present.
It was on July 17, 2013 when Geetanjali, a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula and wife of then Gurgaon CJM Ravneet Garg was found murdered with three bullet injuries in police lines Gurgaon under mysterious circumstances. Police had booked CJM Ravneet, his father K K Garg and mother Rachna Garg under section 302 and 304-B of the IPC.
Geetanjali was found murdered in police lines near the residence of then Gurgaon CJM Ravneet Garg. Her body had three bullet injuries, one in head and two in stomach. The forensic team also recovered all the three bullet shells from the site of crime. The gun from which the bullets fired was also recovered from the spot which was registered in the name of CJM Ravneet Garg.
