Panchkula: Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ravneet Garg, arrested by the CBI on charges of allegedly murdering his wife Geetanjali, has been sent to jail. Garg was produced before the Special CBI judge Kapil Rathi here on Tuesday, which remanded him to 14 days judicial custody. He will be again produced on Sept 27.
CBI told court that they have been able to make the required recoveries during his five days police remand. However, Ravneet sought for the court appearance through video conferencing from Ambala Central jail. CBI arrested Garg on September 8. Before his arrest, Garg was serving as CJM Kaithal.
On July 17, 2013 Geetanjali, a resident of Sector 8, Panchkula and wife of then Gurgaon CJM Ravneet Garg, was found murdered with three bullet injuries in the Police Lines, Gurgaon, under mysterious circumstances. Police had booked CJM Ravneet, his father KK Garg and mother Rachna Garg under Sections 302 and 304-B of the IPC. DP
