Chandigarh: The rebels in Congress party have already raised their heads prior to the official declaration of the candidates list by the Congress. The candidates have declared to contest as independent.
Similar like that in BJP when three of its candidates declared to contest as independent, BJP president Sanjay Tandon termed the act as anti-party and said that such rebels are placed automatically under suspension once they declare to contest as independents.
In Congress, Tarsem Mittal from ward number 18 (Sector 27, 28 and 30) has declared to contest as independent candidate. Mittal said, “I have been religiously working in my ward as well as standing shoulder to shoulder with Congress leaders but at the nick of time they have axed me out and denied the ticket. So I decided to contest elections independently and prove my worth by winning from my ward.”
However the CTCC president Pardeep Chhabra refused to comment on such issue and said, “We will be declaring the candidates list either on Saturday or Sunday.”
However the rebels had already blown the bugle in BJP as three of the aspirants have declared to contest as independents. Former incharge of colonies and BJP office bearer, Dalip Sharma from ward number 19, Shiv Kumar Sharma, aspiring to contest from ward number 18, and Ashwani Kumar, who was seeking ticket from ward no 20 have already declared to contest as independents.
