Chandigarh: Another session of heated arguments was witnessed during MC house meet here on Wednesday when senior Congress leader Subhash Chawal was at logger head with Mayor over the agenda point number eight of providing paver blocks in Milk Colony Dhanas.
Chawla contested that if the agenda is out of policy then another agenda passed in previous meeting must also be placed deferred.
As a result of the contention, both the agendas were set aside as deferred but subjected to paver blocks policy. Chawla referred to agenda of fixing paver blocks at Rs 69.68 lakh at Sector 35 in previous house meet.
Citing the arguments and confusion over the fixing of paver blocks, Congress councillor Gurbax Rawat said that she demand amendment in the policy of paver blocks.
Rawat said, “The policy constituted by MC is not clear and in ambiguous.
Firstly, it does not have any clarity over fixing of pavers in EWS colonies and secondly no clarity whether there will be no fixing of pave blocks at all or fixing can be allowed where pavers have already been fixed and are to be completed.”
The same issue was raised by Chawla alleging that in his ward also the paver is to be completed but not fixed. Chawla said this when engineering wing reasoned that agenda passed in previous meeting was due to the fact that the paver fixing was incomplete in Sector 35.
Over this the other councillors also raised the issue that in that case the pavers have been left incomplete in their wards as well then the agendas to fix those pavers must also be cleared.
So, Mayor Arun Sood deferred all the paver block fixing agendas, including previous house meet agenda subjected to policy and will decide once the policy is cleared.
