Crime cases rose 2016, compared last four years
Panchkula: Despite staff crunch, we have been able to keep tabs on crime’’, says Panchkula Commissioner of Police RC Mishra as in the year 2016, the district witnessed several crime cases but the tendency rate in working out these cases seemed better than before. Panchkula police has worked out on several cases of murder, rape and moreover has kept a strict vigil on narcotics cases in 2016.
As compared to last four years, the city police have gained momentum in solving the cases in an average of 100 per cent tendency rate. Out of the 13 murder cases registered in 2016, the police have worked out on 10 cases till now. Also 20 cases of rape got registered in 2016 out of which all the 20 cases were worked out as per the data provided by the Panchkula police.
However in comparison with last four years, the city witnessed a high scale in NDPS cases. Cases under NDPS act which were 14 in 2012, 11 in 2013, 6 in 2014 and 51 in 2015 has rose to 69 in 2016. Also cases of gambling were also seen beating the level of last four years as 167 cases got registered under Gambling act in 2016 where there were only 39 cases in 2012 and 63 cases in 2015. Meanwhile a major decline was seen in dacoity, robbery and burglary cases as only two cases were registered in 2016 out of which one has been worked out.
The major fall-out can be witnessed in the Motor vehicle theft cases as the local police has worked out only 32 per cent of such cases in 2016 which was also the same in 2015.
