Chandigarh: In match of the points’ table leader Dabang Mumbai and defending champions Punjab Warriors both the teams will be under immense pressure, believes Jay Stacy, head coach of Dabang Mumabi. Host Punjab Warriors and Dabang Mumbai are scheduled to lock horns at Sector-42, stadium on Saturday.
Dabang Mumbai have been in top form this season. The Mumbai based team have 23 points from seven games. They have won four matches, drawn one and lost two. The team also lead in goal difference by a goal margin of 25 points. In last outing they thrashed Punjab Warriors by a mammoth 10-4 score.
Reflecting on the turn of events in this season, Tracy said that it is the coordination and understanding of players which have brought the change.
“It depends on the personality of the players. Although the players are from different country they have gelled up good. The performance which they have put up is also based on the bond which they share,” said Tracy. Mumbai has failed to enter the semi-final on all the previous four occasions.
Talking about the last he added that they were in contentions of the knock out but missed closely on goal margin. “We had many close encounters. Only the goal difference proved the difference in last season,” said the 1988, Olympic player.
On India’s new Hockey star Harmanpreet Singh, he commented that the player has to improve in many areas.
“He is great talent for his age and have the potential to shine in hockey world. But there are many areas he has to improve,” added Tracy. Tracy also believes that the Junior World Cup have provided more vigour to his team.
