Chandigarh: Despite all the possible efforts, being made by the Malaria Wing, UT health department, the number of dengue and chikungunya cases is on rise. The fact is that getting control over the everyday increasing toll is beyond the reach of UT health department.
In a statement issued by the malaria wing of the UT health department on Tuesday ten fresh cases of Dengue have been reported from various health institutions that bring the total number of Dengue cases to 750 in the city.
Meanwhile, with this thirteen fresh cases of Chikungunya have also been reported on Tuesday, out of which six are from Chandigarh, four wrong address and three are imported. The overall 175 cases of Chikungunya have been detected in Chandigarh.
While, everyday, the department is trying to strengthen the preventive activities by daily fumigating along with strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources.
