Chandigarh: The city dengue toll on Tuesday rose to 274, after 15 fresh cases of Dengue were reported from various health institutions. In an official statement released by the health department, the department informed that out of the 15 fresh cases of nine new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases. With this on Tuesday, from GMCH 32 and PGIMER one fresh case of Chickungunya was reported.
The details of 31 cases of chickungunya detected in Chandigarh were 7 imported, 7 wrong address and 17 from Chandigarh. To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out along with strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources.
