Panchkula: Showing rare promptness, the Panchkula Police on Thursday cracked the case of loot at knife point within 24 hours that took place on Wednesday night in Sector 7, Panchkula.
Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused identified as Ravi Kumar Chandravas, a native of Bhiwani, Haryana, who was currently residing in Manimajra, and Sonu Singh, a native of Ferozepur, who was currently residing in Sector 45-D, Chandigarh. According to official, the accused have been nabbed from near Fauji Dhaba, Manimajra.
Speaking to Daily Post, Deputy Commissioner of Police Anil Dhawan said, ‘’The Panchkula police have achieved success in cracking the case within 24 hours. The accused are in the police net as Crime Investigation Agency (CIA-I) has arrested both the accused who will be produced in the local court tomorrow. The details of the case will be revealed after complete interrogation.’’
In a daring robbery, the duo looted around Rs 4.8 lakh from a resident outside his house at knife point and fled from the spot. The incident took place on Wednesday night at around 9.30 when the victim, a doctor by profession, Dr Prabhdeep Sohi, who runs a clinic in Sector 17, Chandigarh, was targeted by the duo outside his house. As one of the accused was sitting in the car, the other, while threatening Sohi with a knife, snatched his bag containing lakhs of rupees, a laptop and some important documents.
Sohi was accompanied by his wife when the incident took place. However, teams of the local police, along with CIA, reached the spot immediately after receiving information, but failed to trace the accused in the CCTV camera installed at the residence as the camera at the victim’s house was only accessible for live capturing and lacked storage device.
