First woman DSP takes charge in Chandigarh

Harjeet kaur cadre inspector who has recently promoted as deputy superintendents of police(DSP) becomes the first woman DSP who took charge in Chandigarh.

Two Chandigarh cadre inspectors promoted as deputy superintendents of police (DSP) which includes Harjeet kaur who have taken charge of their new posts on Friday and the other inspector is Daleep Rattan. Though, Chandigarh already has two female DSPs but both of them are from Delhi, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli (DANIPS) cadre.

Inspector Daleep Rattan had joined Chandigarh police as assistant sub inspector (ASI) in January 1987. Inspector Harjit Kaur had joined as ASI in 1989 and rose to the rank of DSP.
