Lalru: Management of Swami Parmanand College, Lalru has levelled forgery charges against two persons who reportedly mediated the visit of Big B Amitabh Bacchan in the college but cancelled at the last moment. The college had paid Rs 4.50 lalh for BiG B’s visit on February 21. A complaint in this regard has been filed at Handesra Police Station.
Though one of the accused Harry Bhatt is same in the FIR, against whom case has been filed at Kharar Police station by complainant Dr Deepti. But the college has held the complainant as co-accused at Handesra police station. Terming Dr Deepti as one of the mediator, management has alleged that the whole deal was mediated by her who introduced Harry Bhatt to them.
The programme of Big B was postponed twice in the college and preponed once that got cancelled at last on February 21. Earlier, it was scheduled for January 17, later on for February 5 and fixed finally for of February 21. Though all arrangements including security, lunch and welcome, were made and students, staff and management kept on waiting since morning but programme of Big B was cancelled around 2.30 pm, leaving all his fans disappointed.
With the cancellation of Big B visit, the college has assumed it a setback to its reputation besides harassment to a large number of his fans apart from huge expenditure on arrangements including Rs 4.50 lakh, paid through RTGS on January 10,2017. In his complaint, Principal Dr T D Sharma has alleged that the money was paid in favour of Harry Bhatt’s company named Glamon India Film Writers and Producers for which all correspondence data through emails of Dr Deepti and the said company had been mentioned. Confirming the complaint, Handesra SHO Sahab Singh said that the FIR was yet to be filed as some investigations were pending in this regard.
Meanwhile, an FIR had been registered by Kharar Police against Harry Bhatt alias Harnek, his wife Dolly Bhatt, a bank manager and an unknown accomplice on charge of forgery in organising programme of Big B on February 21 in nearly half a dozen colleges on complaint of Dr Deepti on 22nd of February. Interestingly, Parmanand College has alleged that complainant Dr Deepti, is also involved in the forgery.
