Chandigarh: In response to the initiative taken by Education Department to invite retired professionals on a voluntary basis twice a week, S K Setia, former, UT DPI (schools) delivered a lecture to Class XI Humanities at Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS) Sector-16.
During the interaction with students, he elaborated the meaning of Humanities and dealt into the intricacies of the subject. He highlighted the relevance of History as a subject. Setia expressed the difference between Commerce and Humanities.
He also submitted the relevance of education, which starts from birth, and it is through education that a child learns to deal with others and become a social being. He also touched upon the topic of Smart Classes and how multimedia is here to stay.
Setia also stressed upon examinations being conducted frequently so as to remove fear and develop confidence among the children. He gave tips on handling interviews and also asked them to use the dictionary regularly in order to enhance their vocabulary.
