Chandigarh: The surprise visit of Quality Council of India (QCI) team for the Swachh Sarvekshan 2017 survey Made Municipal Corporation to put sudden pressure to clean the city, while cleaning the main city authorities forgot to clean the border area of Indira colony, Chandigarh where huge pile of garbage is found on the pavement of the road.
Savita Devi a resident said, “It is the permanent spot for dumping garbage. Be it summer or winter, night or day this place always stinks a lot with mosquitoes and flies on the garbage that creates unhygienic atmosphere around”.
Sharing the Amit Singh, A commuter said, “I am working in the IT Park and this is my daily route to pass through. With its filthy smell and unhygienic environment this area never seems to be a part of the city beautiful-Chandigarh”.
After talking to Sham Lal, Sweeper Union President said, “Indira colony do not comes under our company’s surveillance. This area is allotted to another company, who delayed their work due to lack of employees but soon they will clean that area” he added.
