Chandigarh: The booking for the Himalayan Queen Toy Train to Shimla is under ‘regret’ as the bookings have jumped the ceiling and is running in over 50 in waiting list. The summer vacation rush has also left other trains with waiting list ranging between 10 to 50 making it difficult for tourists to cope up with travelling aspects to the queen of hills. However, the railways is still reeling under coach wheels threat to start the two extra holiday special trains to Shimla. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM-Commercials) Parveen Gaur Dwedi said, “We are yet to start the two holiday special trains.
The delay marked the unavailability of the wheels to run the coaches. But now we have made the wheels available and soon the two trains will be made available for tourists. At present the coaches in other toy trains are back to their full strength of six in each train.” The DRM also added that this year railways is having a good season as all the train are running at full capacity and are over booked.
“It is the tendency of the booking software to automatically regret the ticket booking once the ceiling of 50 waiting lists arrives. The Himalayan Queen has already attained the regret status,” said Dwedi. According to the IRCTC booking website, the Himalayan Queen Express (54255-56) is booked till June 29 with regret dates of June 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, and 24. The other days show waiting list between 10 to 49. Similarly, the Rail Motor Car Status is also somewhat the same as this train of 12 seats is also booked till July 2 with waiting list ranging between 3 to 28.
