Mohali: India’s first AC Bus Terminal, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur is not less than a masterpiece and may be opened to general public before Independence Day. Each project has three phases i.e. completion, handing over and inauguration. The first phase has been completed and the process of 2nd phase is underway, informed officials in C&C Towers the subsidiary company of C&C Constructions Limited which has executed the project.
The project has been executed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. ISBT cum commercial complex project is spread over a land parcel of 7 acre with FAR of 9,17,939 sq. ft. Tower A houses ISBT of which ground and first floor will be made operational. The company plans to start Tower B and C by December 2018. The tower A has lower ground (LG) for two wheelers parking area and cloak rooms and basement area for car parking.
The ground floor will be used as bus terminal, ticket booking, and house general waiting lounges. Around 170 buses can be parked at one time with area designed in a way to cater flow of nearly 2000 buses in a day. As per aggrement at least 1950 buses will ply from bus stand on daily basis. Tower A will have retail shops. The paid dormitories including VIP, have been set up at first floor.
Once completed region’s first 10-screen multiplex will be housed in the complex along with modular offices. A life sized statue of Sikh General , Baba Banda Singh Bahadur , will soon be placed at the entrance of along with the history of brave Sikh General .
