Chandigarh: The left out aspirants have blown the bugle against BJP for ignoring them while finalising the candidates list. Group of such supporters staged protest outside the house of Sanjay Tandon on Wednesday. Whereas others staged protest at their respective wards and declared to contest as independent candidates and blamed BJHP Chief for being biased.
Some of the party workers from Mauli Jagran in support of Mukesh Rai and Rajinder Kaur raised slogans outside the house of Sanjay Tandon in Sector 18 alleging that the selection of candidate from ward number 24 is biased. The ticket must have been given either to Mukesh Rai or Rajinder Kaur instead of Anil Dubey. The supporter s of Des Raj Gupta from ward number 26 also protested and said that BJP cannot win from ward number 26 in absence of Des Raj Gupta. BJP has given ticket to Vinod Aggarwal from ward number 26. On the other hand three former officer bearers of BJP, who were vying for ticket have decided to contest independently and are blaming BJP chief of acting biased.
Former incharge of colonies and BJP office bearer, Dalip Sharma, said, “Sanjay Tandon is acting a dictator and not deciding on win-ability. From ward number 19 he has declared the name of Raj Kishore who had already lost in previous elections and in 2006 he also lost to Sarita Sharma, one of my family members. Now I have decided to contest independently and along with me 900 active members have resigned from BJP.”
Another contender Shiv Kumar Sharma, aspiring to contest from ward number 18 said that he was shocked when name of Saurab Joshi was announced from the ward. “He is an outsider and never worked in ward number 18. We have been working religiously and now have been denied the ticket. Now I will contest independent and will win to show that Sanjay Tandons anti BJP factions.”
Similarly Ashwani Kumar, who was seeking ticket from ward no 20 said, they have given ticket to person, who is not even known in the sector. Sanjay Tandon has completely ignored our local leaders and has decided to contest.
