Chandigarh: After protest by residents of PU girls’ hostel no 2 against unhygienic food served in mess due to which six cases of NCC (Neurocysticercosis) were found, meeting was held with the authorities on Monday, in which it was resolved that medical board will check the cases and give report.
Students alleged that due to unhygienic food served by mess contractors and failure on part of PU authorities to inspect food on regular basis there have been increase in number of students suffering from same ailment. Medical board checked the reports of 3 NCC victims at health center in PU here on Monday.
The medical board will sit on Tuesday also to look into pending cases and will submit its report by Tuesday itself. Noneuro specialist was called to examine the case. According to students the victims were also pressurized by medical board indirectly in form of questioning and advocating the cleaning of hostel. owever DSW (W) says, “I would recommend the medical team to consult PGI doctor.”DP
