Chandigarh: The fog affect is hitting hard as the Northern railways have cancelled the morning Shatabdi express, Delhi-Kalka-Delhi (12011/12) is cancelled for the fourth day in a row for Monday. A total of 9 trains were delayed to due to foggy weather prevailing between Delhi and Ambala sections.
Getting consistently late by over hours, the railways have yet again cancelled the Deli-Kalka-Delhi morning Shatabdi express for Monday. This was stated by the spokesperson following orders from the headquarters in New Delhi. Morning Shatabdi express reach Chandigarh at 11:05 am after departing from Delhi at 7:45 am and returns back at 5:45 pm from Chandigarh. The train has been cancelled on Monday and spokesperson said that if the fog remains, the train may be cancelled for more days.
Nine trains chugged in late at the Chandigarh railway station on Sunday. Kalka mail (12311) reached 21 hours late. The scheduled arrival of the train was 3 am and the train arrived at the platform number 3 at 1 am on Wednesday.
The other train which got delayed were the long distance train like, Jaipur-Chandigarh (19717) express reached Chandigarh late by 45 minutes. Lalakuan-Amritsar Express (14615) reached Chandigarh late by one hour and 20
Lucknow-Chandigarh (12231) Sadbhawna Express was late by around 11 hours. Himalayan Queen was also delayed by 50 minutes in the morning and Sai Nagar Shirdi-Kalka Express (22455) chugged in 8 hours late.
Lucknow-Chandigarh Express (15011) was also late by around three hours and 20 minutes in the afternoon.
