Chandigarh: Taking a serious note over the news published in Daily Post regarding the ‘shopping complex’ at Burail jail remaining non-functional even after local MP Kirron Kher had inaugurated it four months back, MP Kher has sent a communiqué to the IG Burail Jail to commence the shopping complex as early as possible.
An official from the office of MP Kirron Kher said that a letter has been sent to Inspector General Burail Jail, Tajinder Singh Luthra. MP Kirron Kher has strictly ordered the jail authorities to initiate the shopping complex and asked reason for the delay in its opening. Kher has mentioned in the letter that when it was planned to be opened within 15 days then why has the complex not been started yet?
It is pertinent to mention here that Daily Post had published the story relating to the delay in the opening of shopping complex at Model jail Burail in Sector-51, Chandigarh.
The Shopping Complex at Model jail Burail, which involved art and creativity of the inmates at Burail Jail was inaugurated by local Member of Parliament Kirron Kher in the presence of Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh Parimal Rai and Home Secretary Anurag Agarwal on July 31 this year. The shopping complex is meant to sell furniture and bakery items prepared by the jail inmates, to public.
