Chandigarh: The body of a 40-year-old man was found under mysterious circumstances in his parked car here at Sector 17, Chandigarh on Monday morning. The victim was detained by the police two days back after his wife had complained of quarrelling with him, said sources. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Munish Chopra a resident of Sector 15, Chandigarh. The victim was working as a salesman at a garments store at Sector 17, Chandigarh. Police sources said that the body was found by Raj Chopra, the victim’s mother, in his white coloured Hyundai Accent car on Monday morning.
The victim’s mother had come to the showroom to locate him as he did not come back home on Sunday following, which the family had also given a missing person’s complaint to the local police. After the body was traced, the police was then called at the spot. The police found that the body was in a decomposed condition in the car, which was locked from the front but the rear side was open. The body was then taken to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16, where the body was kept for post-mortem which will be conducted on Tuesday. The police have, meanwhile, not ruled out foul play and are still investigating the matter
Gardener at local hotel dies after falling from 1st floor
Chandigarh: A 55-year-old gardener at Hotel Shivalik View died after he allegedly fell from the first floor of the hotel while watering the plants here at Hotel Shivalik View Sector 17, Chandigarh on Monday. According to the police, the victim has been identified as Ram Kirpal, a native of Uttar Pradesh (UP). The deceased was working for the past 20 years at the hotel as a gardener. Police sources said that the incident took place at around 9 am when the deceased went to the first floor to water the flower pots. As he was trying to open a joint in the water pipe, he accidently fell from the first floor and crashed straight into a light pole. Following the incident, an alarm was raised by the hotel staff and police was called at the spot. The victim was rushed to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16, where duty doctors declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, the police have ruled out any foul play in the matter, but have have initiated inquest proceedings.

Kuldeep, the son of deceased who has just passed his Class XII said that his mother is paralytic and is on bed rest from past four years. The deceased was also the only bread earner for the family. Meanwhile, the hotel authorities have decided to send an application to the UT administration for getting a job for the son of the deceased. DP

Raj Chopra, mother of the deceased, stated that the victim was detained by the police on Friday after his wife had complained of quarrelling with him. However, the wife of the victim took back the complaint after two days and then the deceased came back home. He then left for his job on Sunday morning in his car, but then he did not return back in the evening. Following this, the family then gave a missing person’s complaint to the police and then searched for him on Monday morning, when he was found dead in his car.
