Chandigarh:The body of a 43-year-old property dealer was found under mysterious circumstances in the jungle area of Manimajra here on Sunday morning. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained by the police.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Vikrant Sharma, a resident of Sector 16, Panchkula. The deceased was running a property dealing firm at Panchkula, said the police.
Police sources said the body of the deceased was found by a passer-by in the jungle area of Manimajra, near the petrol station. When the informer went to attend the call of nature in the jungle area, he found a man lying unconscious with foam coming from his mouth.
The passer-by informed the police immediately. A police team reached the spot and the PCR cops rushed him to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where the duty doctors declared him brought dead.
After finding papers from his pocket, the police team informed the family and relatives of the deceased.
During preliminary investigation the police learnt that Vikrant had left his residence in a taxi and gone to Sector 35 in connection with some work and then he came to Manimajra in the evening. The deceased had even informed his family in the evening that he was at Manimajra but he did not return home.
Inspector Harminder Singh, SHO, Police Station, Manimajra, said, “The preliminary examination did not suggest any injury marks on the body.
The body of the deceased has been kept in the GMSH-16 for a post-mortem examination.” From preliminary investigation it appeared to be a suicide case.
