The three Civil Hospitals including sector 22, 45, and Manimajra are currently running without chemist shops
Chandigarh: Expressing her serious concern about the medical care facilities at civil hospitals Sector 45, 22 and Manimajra, Chandigarh, on Thursday Member of Parliament Kirron Kher, has written to Health and Home Secretary, Chandigarh, Anurag Aggarwal.
In the written letter, Kher has desired for opening on Chemist shops in these Civil Hospitals. She has mentioned that some residents had complained to her that due to the non-availability of pharmacy shops in these hospitals the patients and their attendants suffer a lot during emergency particularly night hours. She also mentioned that presently if any medicine is prescribed to the patients, the attendants of such patients have to rush the big hospitals or faraway places to purchase the medicines, which often create problems for the serious patients.
She also suggested that in order to overcome this problem, she is of the opinion that chemist shops should be setup that must remain open round the clock.
In case opening of these shops is time-consuming for completing the official procedure, till then alternative arrangements should be made to facilitate the patients and their attendants. She has further asked him to direct the concerned officers to take prompt action in this regard and a report sent to her office.
