Panchkula:The machinery failure at Civil Hospital, Sector 6, is undergoing a serious crisis, as after Lone Phaco machine and Bone Density machine, the thyroid testing machine is not in working condition now.
From last one week, the patients coming to get their thyroid test done are going back with disappointment. According to the laboratory staff, the thyroid machine does not get any fault but is under maintenance. It was also learnt that the staff and the technicians at the laboratory are refusing the patients for this respective test saying the machine is under maintenance process.
The Civil Hospital on a daily basis had a footfall of hundreds of patients and out of these many are recommended for various tests from the doctors, but following machinery failure they are forced to get those tests done from private clinics or hospitals which charge them double the rate of civil hospital.
Primary Medical Officer, Dr Veena Singh when asked about the issue said,’’ I will get it checked from the laboratory staff. If the machine is not working, then a report of the same will be asked from the concerned official.’’
Meanwhile MLA Gian Chand Gupta had also written to Health Minister Anil Vij following failure of a machine and had sought inquiry in the matter. The Lone Phaco Machine at the hospital which was purchased in 2008 for conducting eye surgeries is non-functional from more than a year.
Also the bone density machine which developed fault six years ago following which the Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij directed the health department authorities to get it maintained and repaired in 2015, is still under the process of repair and is not working following which the patients are facing various problems as they are spending around Rs 1500 for the respective test outside which will cost them Rs 150 at the Civil
Last year on July 14, 2015, Anil Vij visited the Civil Hospital and marked inquiry on various issues which are to be resolved by the health department authorities and also taking a strict view directed them to get the work done immediately and submit the report of the same but till date the authorities have not taken any step towards this problem.
