Chandigarh: As the fever of elections has already hit the campus of Panjab University, every party is leaving no stone unturned to lure the voters. Interestingly, NSUI has also played it’s triumph card by announcing Siya Minocha as candidate for presidential post for upcoming PUCSC elections. This is the first time that NSUI has announced a girl for the post of president.
Senior leaders from Panjab congress like Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Kuljeet Singh Nagra (MLA Fatehgarh Sahib), Balbir Sidhu (MLA MOhali), Pradeep Chhabra(CPCC president) and Amrita Dhawan came for the support and promotion of NSUI in campus while the announcement was made by NSUI, Spokesperson – All India Congress Committee Amrita Dhawan.
She emphasised that NSUI is going to record its third win in the upcoming elections. NSUI won elections for two consecutive sessions 2014-15 and 2013-14.
Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, President Indian youth congress (IYC) and MLA from Gidderbaha (Punjab), while addressing the students said, “NSUI has always been fighting for students’ rights and will always fights for truth.”
He also added, “Youth of this generation lacks sincerity and dedication but our workers are dedicated and have working on ground level and I would like them to work even more harder. “
Other issues pin pointed in his speech were problem of drugs in youth particulary inj Punjab and he announced the group that walked off from their party as suspended.
While Siya Minocha says, “Girls are already high in academics but they feel not comforted in politics. But I will try my best for their mobilisation and for their full participation in other activities also.”
