Panchkula: Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Gauri Prasher Joshi urged the devotees not to offer milk in liquid form instead offer it in sealed milk pouches. She directed the administrative officers to educate devotees to follow the trend as lose milk offered goes waste.
Joshi was heading the meeting Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board (MMDSB) held here on Friday to chalk out the plans for the forthcoming Navratra fair to be held at Mata Mansa Devi temple from March 28 to April 5.
During the meeting it was also decided that this time there will be no auction of the shops at the fair rather the shops will be allotted through draw of lots.
Joshi said, “We have decided to educate devotees to offer milk at Lord Shiva temple at Mansa Devi in sealed milk pouches. This way the devoted milk cans be used to donate to the needy otherwise it flows down the drain.”
She also said that Additional Deputy Commissioner Hema Sharma is appointed as nodal officer for conducting the fair. City Magistrate Mamta Sharma has been appointed as head coordination committee and SDM Jagdeep Dhanda will head the enforcement committee. Joshi also constituted the monitoring committee.
She also directed the police to ensure the law and order situation during the Navratra Fair in Panchkula as well as Kali Mata Temple at Kalka.
