Panchkula: The blind murder case in which Panchkula police failed to identify the body has finally been solved by Crime Investigation Agency (CIA-I) of Panchkula.
CIA-I team of Panchkula arrested the accused in the case through CCTV footage and with the help of the information provided by MDC police station in charge Atma Ram. The accused has been identified as Sachitanand, native of Uttar Pradesh and was arrested on Thursday from market in Sector 19, Chandigarh.
During the interrogation, accused told the police that he met the deceased identified as Sunita also a native of Uttar Pradesh at Sector 43, bus stand Chandigarh. After luring Sunita and promising to marry her, the accused took her to Kishangarh, Chandigarh on the night of August 21. After this the accused took a room at rent from a woman named Santosh.
When the deceased persisted for going back to her home, the accused pushed her following which she got unconscious. After listening to this, the landlady reached the spot and after that Sachitanand took the deceased in his auto rickshaw to hospital. On the way he found that Sunita has died. Due to fear of getting caught the accused threw the body at Sector 7 MDC near forest area and fled away. Following his arrest, the accused will be produced in the local court on Friday.
