Chandigarh: Ten member Parliamentary Committee comprising of Member Parliament visited Sarangpur village adopted by Member Parliament Kirron Kher in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The committee is here to assess the works done under MPLAD funds.
The committee was satisfied by the work done under MPLAND funds said, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker AIADMK leader M Thambidurai. The ten member committee headed by M Thambidurai comprised of Mohammad Khan, Dalip Patel, Mukesh Rajput, VY Subba Reddy, Lakhan Lal Sahu, Kulmani Samal, Satpal Singh, Varinder Kashyap, and Harish Chandra Chavan.
The delegation was briefed by MP Kirron Kher along with Deputy Commissioner Ajit Balaji Joshi, SDM Tanvi Garg and Chief Engineer Mukesh Anand. Thambidurai expressed his belief to take the round of the village first before sitting down to hear the villagers and to attend the function organised by the village panchayat.
Kirron Kher, till date, has allocated Rs 1.77 crore for various works under the MPLADS, including Rs 1.41 crore for the development of Sarangpur village, which was adopted by her under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY), one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship programmes.
From providing garbage bins for Rs 99,000, purchase of school bus for Rs 28.13 lakh, ambulances for Rs 9 lakh, Concretisation of streets and laying of RCC pipes at Sarangpur for Rs 28 lakh, Purchase of a vehicle for PFA, Chandigarh for Rs 14 lakh, Construction of 4 bus shelters in Sarangpur for Rs 24.69 lakh, Construction of veterinary sub-centre in Sarangpur for Rs 24.02 lakh, Construction of toilet block at Sarangpur for Rs 21.71 lakh and Installation of generator on booster and supply of canal water in Sarangpur for Rs 13.46 lakh are amongst many other developmental works completed under MPLAD funds.
