Panchkula: As Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij made his visit to Panchkula Civil hospital stationed at Sector 6 on Monday afternoon, majority of the doctors were seen on different duties following his visit and patients were found having harrowing time while waiting for the concerned doctors in the OPDs.
It can also be stated here that patients had to suffer following Health Minister visit as they were found standing in queues outside few OPDs, dressing rooms, mini OT and other concerned places with no doctor inside on the job.
During a reality check following the launch of ‘Vibgyor Bed Linen’, it was found that many patients were standing in long queues outside different OPDs including the gynae OPD.
Also attendants at ICU and CCU were seen visiting their patients by wearing gowns and gloves which were earlier not available with the hospital management.
It was learnt that the process was initiated following Health Minister visit.
Pooja, a patient standing in the queue at Gynae OPD: ‘’I am standing in the queue from past half an hour and the doctor is not available in her cabin.
This is an inconvenience to the patients as we have come here to get our
treatment done, not to wait.’’
Also few of the patients were found waiting for the staff at the minor OT room and at Nebulisation ward.
Om Parkash, a patient with a fracture on his right leg said: ‘’I have been waiting here from past an hour as I have been told to wait by the staff.
I have come here from Naraingarh and have to get my plaster removed and other dressing
done.’’ However the token system, which can be found non-functional majority of the times in the hospital was also made functional following his visit.
