Plot owners booked for negligence

Chandigarh: A day after four fire fighters were hospitalised following an operation of chlorine gas leak at Sector 26, the Chandigarh Police on Thursday booked the owner of the plot in the matter for negligence. The police have arrested the owner of Kamal Goods Carrier for negligence along with other Mehak Chemical Private Limited, District Una, Himahcal Pradesh and Krishana Equipments Construction Technology Projects of Mohali for negligence. The police have arrested the owner of Kamal Goods Carrier, Mukesh Kumar Bittu who was later released on the bail. The police are yet to nab Mehak Chemical Private Limited and Krishana Equipments. A case has been registered against them under section 336 ( Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC in Sector 26 police station. As many as four fighters were hospitalised to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16, after a chlorine gas cylinder got leaked here at a plot at transport area, Sector 26, Chandigarh on Wednesday morning. The fire fighters were involved in the operation of disposing off the chlorine cylinder. The four fire fighters namely Jaspal Singh (42), Varinder Kumar (42), Raj Kumar (41) and Naveen Kumar (30) were immediately hospitalised to GMSH – 16. All the four fire fighters are working in Mani Majra fire station. Meanwhile, the condition of the four is stated to be stable now, said police.
