Chandigarh: Around 250 volunteers and faculty members of the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, participated in ‘Run for awareness’ conducted by the UILS in association with State Legal Services Authority and district legal services authority. It was started at 6 pm en route university campus. District and Sessions judge-cum-chairman, district legal services authority, Chandigarh, Balbir Singh was the chief guest.
‘Run for Awareness’ was carried out to create awareness regarding legal aid being provided by the legal aid clinic of UILS. The legal aid clinic works from Monday to Friday at 3 pm to 4 pm. Additional district and sessions judge Atul Kasana, chief judicial magistrate-cum-secretary district legal services authority, Chandigarh Amrinder Sharma and IPS (retd), Chief coordinator, NALSA Schemes V K Kapoor were present.
