Chandigarh: Coming down heavily on the statement issued by BJP national president Amit Shah, former Railway Minister and MP from Chandigarh Pawan Kumar Bansal said that he is again ready to face the probe if BJP orders re-investigations in Railgate scam.
Bansal said this while addressing media persons during the press briefing at Congress Bhawan in Sector 35 on Monday. He was accompanied by CTCC president Pardeep Chhabra, former Mayors Subhash Chawla, Poonam Sharma, Devinder Babla and other prominent Congress leaders.
Reacting to the Amit Shah’s statement by calling Bansal and Congress marred with corruption and scams, he said, “I came out clean earlier also and even I was made a prosecution witness. If still BJP thinks that they can reopen the inquiry, I am ready to face the probe once again.”
He said that Shah must look at his own weaknesses first then point out to others. Bansal said, “Amit Shah is suffering from selective amnesia as it seems that he has forgotten what they have done in the past. Either Shah is not versed with the facts or he is deliberately avoiding speaking truth ,” said Bansal.
Bansal said that he was given clean chit and was only prosecution witness in the case.
Bansal also criticised the decision of the demonetisation and said that it has affected the economy badly. While supporting the statement of Pawan Bansal and taking dig at the Sanjay Tandons family, CTCC president Pardeep Chhabra said, “Before levelling allegations against Pawan Bansal and others, BJP must probe the dubious role of the local leaders. It is an open secret about the facts of scams by family of Sanjay Tandon in Punjab.”
