Chandigarh:Two days after remaining in limelight over the red-beacons issue, Punjab Minister for Power and Irrigation Rana Gurjeet Singh on Wednesday finally claimed to not to have opposed the removing of the beacon from the ministers’ vehicles. He also clarified that he was not using the beacon lights since the day it was decided by the Cabinet to do away with these.
Referring to some reports in a section of media suggesting that he was opposed to the move, Rana Gurjeet said he had made the comment about the use of beacon lights in a lighter vein and that too one day before it was decided by the Cabinet that nobody will use the beacon lights. Rana said that as a minister he was part of the Cabinet decision and he was bound by it. “Besides, I am bound by whatever is decided by our honourable Chief Minister,” he added.
