Panchkula: Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani would lay the foundation stone of Rs 100 crore, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) on December 4 at Sector 23 on a site of about 10 acre. Six regular degree courses would be offered at the NIFT, Panchkula.
Other than this, the authorities have also clarified and have given a next call towards one of the major project, which is the medical college that will soon be coming up in Panchkula.
Earlier, the chief minister had announced to give the land earmarked for medical college for civilians to the army during a civil military liaison conference in May this year, but now plan has been changed. Local MLA and State Minister Gian Chand Gupta clarified that the medical college which will be coming up in Mansa Devi Complex (MDC) at Panchkula will be for civilians.
Gupta told that Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has already written to the army in this regard.
The medical college has been a long pending demand of Panchkula residents and the college would come up along with a 500-bedded hospital.
“The residents of Gandhi colony would later be offered flats under the scheme housing for all, under which 10,000 houses would be constructed in public private partnership for slum dwellers,” he said.
