Chandigarh: Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) constituted to carry out the developmental works under Smart City project is poised to hire a project management consultant within 10 days, said SPV Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Baldeo
Purushartha. He said this after watching the presentation of the four companies mulling to bid for the project on Friday.
The SPV is constituted as joint venture between UT Administration and Municipal Corporation (MC) to rope in the project management consultant to execute the project as well as to prepare the estimates.
The companies which participated in the presentation are Mumbai based Tata Consulting Engineer Limited, Gurgaon based AECOM Asia Limited and Egis International with Royal HaskoningDHV, from Netherland.
The presentation was viewed by CEO SPV Baldeo Purushartha, Jitender Yadav, director tourism, UT Chief Engineer Mukesh Anand, MC Chief Engineer N P Sharma and other members.
Purushartha, said, “We will be finalising the company within 10 days. All the four companies are of repute and working for pan India. In the presentation, they gave their methodology, work plan, number of team members and how they are going to execute it.”
SPV yet to set up office of its own
Municipal Corporation (MC) is yet to set up the office for the working of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) constituted to undertake the projects under Smart City. The announcement to set up the office for SPV was made in October last year but MC is yet to make the arrangements. Office site in Sector 17 has been finalised. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SPV cum MC Commissioner Baldeo Purushartha said, “We will start the development under Smart City project from Sector 17, 22, 35 and 43 on pilot basis and will extend it to other parts of the city,” said Purushartha.
“SPV will work on developing Sector 17 as per the plans declared in Smart City project and the work is likely to be initiated by June end. We are likely to get Rs 200 crores in addition to Rs 100 crore for 2015-16 and 2016-17 financial years and Rs 100 each for 2017-18 and 2018-19 to both MC and UT administration.
