Chandigarh: The Swachh-Ability Run 2016 held every year on December 3 to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) across the world will commence from Chandigarh. The run will start on November 27 from Chandigarh Club and will culminate at Ayur Vigyan Auditorium, RR Hospital in New Delhi on December 4.
To commemorate the occasion, a Swachh-Ability Run 2016, a unique concept conceived by Major D P Singh, the famous Indian Blade Marathon Runner, is being organised in cities of Chandigarh, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, and NCR along the historic Grand Trunk road.
This year PwD day will be celebrated with the theme “A Run for All and Cleanliness by All”. This noble cause will be undertaken over a period of seven days, starting on 27 Nov 2016 at Chandigarh and culminating at New Delhi on 04 Dec 2016 covering 7 cities, spreading the message of “Inclusion and Swachh Bharat”. Towards this goal people with Disabilities will challenge their physical capacities through a run and further lead the Swachh drive after finishing the run. The idea being to lead by challenging one’s Disability and also contribute towards the National cause as a worthy citizen.
