Chandigarh: The Sector 35-C parking lot and Ideal Truck Parking in Sector 26 went for the highest bid of Rs 59 lakh as all the 23 parking lots went under hammer on Friday. There were no takers for the Piccadilly Multiplex-II Sector 34 parking lot, and Shanti Kunj Sector 16 fetched the lowest bid at Rs 3.22 lakh. The Municipal Corporation earned total revenue of Rs 53.127 crore from the auction of the 23 parking lots against reserve price of Rs 25.37 crore.
The MC fetched double the revenue against reserve price of the parking lots. The auction bids which were accepted online were opened in the presence of MC Joint Commissioner Varinder Chaudhary and Surinder Bahga nominated councillor-cum-observer. The Sector 35-C parking lot had a reserve price of Rs 32.5 lakh and Ideal Truck Parking had a reserve price of Rs 30.55 lakh which went for Rs 59 lakhs each.
The second highest bid went for Elate Mall parking lot which went for Rs 50.05 lakh against reserve price of Rs 30.05 lakh and the third highest parking at Sector 34 Zone-1 went for Rs 34.05 lakh against reserve price of Rs 11.13 lakh. Bank Square parking lot attracted maximum bidders, 16 against the reserve price of Rs 13.76 lakh for which it went for Rs 30.2 lakh whereas the second most sought for parking lots are Sector 22 – B and Sector 34 Zone-1 attracting 15 bidders each.
The Sector 22-B parking has a reserve price of Rs 13.30 lakh against which it fetched Rs 25.05 lakh and Sector 34 Zone – 1 lot has a reserve price of Rs 11.13 lakh and went for Rs 34.05 lakh. The third most sought after parking lots are Sector 22-C and Sukhna Lake with 14 bidders each. Sector 22-C had reserve price of Rs 5.4 lakh and fetched Rs 15 lakh and Sukhan Lake had a reserve price of Rs 10.3 lakh which went for Rs 27.25 lakh.
