Interrogation reveals that both accused are involved in drug smuggling for last one year.The Narcotics Control Bureau of Chandigarh have arrested two youths for allegedly possessing 2.7 kilogram Opium here at Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) Sector- 43, Chandigarh on Thursday.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Avtar Singh a resident of Phase-11, Mohali (Punjab) and Satish Kumar a resident of village Salemebad, Shahjahanpur (UP).
Kuldeep Sharma, Superintendent, NCB said the source of opium is Uttar Pradesh. Avtar Singh is using vehicle Swift VDI registration number PB23-L-0037 (Car) for smuggling of opium. The vehicle is registered in the name of Sukhjinder Singh resident of Derabassi, Punjab.
Interrogation of the accused reveals that both accused are involved in drug smuggling for last one year. Earlier on Wednesday, the NCB have busted two cousin brothers for allegedly possessing 610 grams of heroin from their possession and on Tuesday the team has nabbed a Panchkula resident for allegedly possessing contraband and recovered 1.47 kilograms of opium from his possession.
