Chandigarh: Yoga Day is not just a single event but people’s event to connect masses and this event is especially for youth to connect. These are the two messages that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave for the residents said Shripad Yasso Naik, Union Minister of State for AYUSH while addressing the media at UT Guest House on Friday regarding the ongoing preparations of the International Yoga Day. He was accompanied by Ajit M Sharan, Secretary Ministry of AYUSH, Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, Chandigarh Administration, Sarvjit Singh, Finance Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner along with other senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration.
Naik appealed to all the citizens of the country that celebrations of the Yoga Day is a success of the entire nation and hence every citizen should do his or her bit in celebrating this day and initiating yoga and its principles in the life. Every citizen of the country must come forward and celebrate it enthusiastically. Naik said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has envisaged the event not just as Yoga day but to connect the masses with the Yoga. I am fully satisfied with the preparations going on for the Yoga Day. Anything which promotes purity of yoga is good.”
Secretary Ministry of AYUSH Ajit M Sharan, while addressing the media said, “Yoga would be celebrated all over the country as a mass event, in every city every district by delivering two key messages of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. First message to the country is that Yoga Day is not just a single event, it is people’s movement across the country and second that the event is especially for the youth of the country”. He, further said that this year from across the world more than 193 countries will participate in the International Day of Yoga on June 21.
