The services of Ajay Kumar have been terminated after the allegations were proved in the preliminary enquiry. The employee also confessed to the crime forth the preliminary enquiry committee.
Modus operandi of embezzling licence fee
ADC Rajiv Gupta said that the employee posted at the fee collection counter for the renewal and issue of new arms licences has been accepting Rs 1,000 for a new licence and Rs 1,500 for renewal of a licence.
Ajay Kumar was supposed to issue a receipt in acceptance of the fee to the applicant but the employee, instead of accounting for the fee collected, did not issue the receipts and was habitual of sending the applicant back after collecting the money.
The employee also did not deposit the collected fee with the DC office and kept it in his pocket. The ADC also said that now all the files relating to the acceptance of such fee were being scrutinised to look in for any other such irregularity.
