Faces backlog of around 50,000 applications
Chandigarh: UT Administration has called for the expression of interest for fixation of high security registration (HSRP) plates on vehicles registered under UT. All the applicants to file tenders online by February 28, reads the orders. The tenders will be opened on March 1.
There has been a backlog of around 50,000 odd vehicles waiting for the fixation of the HSRP plates on their vehicles at Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA).
The UT Administration despite of the fact that there has been backlog of clearing the HSRP application has been conducting the registration process of the new series.
The registration for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers of new series “CH01-BL” for special or choice registration numbers 0001 to 9999 will start from February 9 from 10 am and will continue till February 15 till 5 pm and the e-auction will start on February 16 starting 10 am to continue till February 18 till 5 pm.
The owner of the vehicle can register at the National Transport website www.parivahan.gov.in/fancy and the link of the same is available on the Chandigarh Administration, Transport Department website: www.chdtransport.gov.in and obtain the Unique Acknowledgement Number (UAN).
The owner of the vehicle who has purchased the vehicle at Chandigarh address only will be allowed to participate in e-auction. Sale Letter i.e Form No. 21, UID i.e. Aadhaar Card and address proof of Chandigarh are mandatory to participate in the e-auction.
