Anurag Aggarwal and Jatinder Yadav to go on study tour for green city concept
Chandigarh: UT is all set to adopt the Bristol’s way for green city concept. The two-member team of UT administrative officers will leave for Bristol on November 4. UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore reviewed the concept during the meeting held at his newly renovated office in UT Secretariat on Wednesday.
He said, “We have decided to bring Chandigarh on Bristol’s green city concept. Recently Bristol has been adjudged for European Green Capital Award. Earlier, it was Copenhagen which was the greenest city of Europe. We have constituted a team of two administrative officers to study the concept for which they are leaving for Bristol. We will adopt the concept to bring about green concept for the city.”
The team of Home Secretary Anurag Aggarwal and Director Tourism Jatinder Yadav will leave for Bristol on Friday.
Anurag Aggarwal said, “It is great desire of the UT Administrator to get the tag of green city for Chandigarh. We will adopt the model of Bristol, European city for green city. We will be there for two days and after that we will also attend the tourism summit in London where we put up the Chandigarh tourism Stall for seven days. We will promote tourism and also develop contacts with local travel agents.”
He further added that they would study the concepts how Bristol maintains the green city concept with low pollution level or implementation of bicycles for transport and also keeping the city clean.
